RH Wood House

A piece of Rockport history, thoughtfully preserved for generations to enjoy.

Built in 1868 for Richard Henry Wood, one of Rockport's early pioneers, this remarkable home has stood witness to more than 150 years of coastal history. Following a meticulous three-year restoration, the home beautifully balances its original character with the comforts of modern living.

Throughout the house, you'll discover original woodwork, exposed hand-hewn beams, antique furnishings, and beautifully restored fireplaces accented with historic tile. Even the kitchen countertops tell a story, crafted from wood reclaimed from the home's original roof rafters.

With four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, one half bath, and accommodations for up to 12 guests, the Wood House is especially suited for family gatherings and multigenerational getaways. Cozy upstairs sleeping nooks add a little extra magic for younger guests, while inviting living spaces, a charming library, and a spacious kitchen offer plenty of room to reconnect.

Outside, mature pecan trees frame a private pool, spa, and beautifully appointed outdoor entertaining area. Spend sunny afternoons enjoying the coastal breeze, gather around the outdoor kitchen, or settle into the screened porch with your morning coffee and a good book.

Located in Rockport's Cultural Arts District, the home is just a short walk from the harbor, local restaurants, galleries, boutiques, and waterfront attractions.

More than a place to stay, the 1868 R. H. Wood House is an invitation to experience the history, charm, and relaxed beauty of Rockport.
